Raccoon Stew?

Hello,
So this post isn't going to talk about either of my girls... I know, I know. All of you are disappointed. :)

Yesterday morning, when Greg was leaving for school, he noticed a rather large animal at the end of our driveway... Yep, right on our driveway. Not just on the road in front of our house, but in the driveway... where the garbage can goes once a week. The rather large animal was a DEAD RACCOON! Can you say "Ewwwwwwwww!"? Greg did report to me that it wasn't "bloody and gutsy". Somehow this did make me feel a _little_ better. But either way, we stayed inside yesterday until Greg got home. Can you imagine trying to keep a very curious 3 year old away from that?

After Greg got home, he made a phone call to the town to see how to deal with it... The answer? "Well, most people double bag it in garbage bags and throw it in the garbage." Greg's response as he is hanging up the phone... "Ummm.. oka-a-a-a-a-y." (in a disbelieving tone). I do have to say that I am very thankful that I'm not a guy! While I don't typically follow the "guys work", "girls work" mentality on household things... this was an exception! Anything to do with rodents, dead animals, some live animals, etc are all Greg's jobs. I'll be happy to do dishes and laundry thank you very much.

Greg did talk to his brother (Kevin, the chef) and jokingly asked him if he had any good "raccoon recipes". Kevin's response was "Don't eat it". :)

So now I know that you are all very curious how Greg dealt with the raccoon. He did the honorable thing (as I'm sure any Eagle Scout would). He dug the raccoon a little grave way back in the trees.

Don't worry Dad, no human contact was made with the raccoon at any point. Greg said (when asked) "Give me a little bit of credit!" :)

So that was Greg's Thursday adventure... I wonder what the weekend holds.
