Big accomplishments

Well, January 20, 2006 has proven to be a big day in Abi's world... Well, in ours too. :) First, Abi figured out how to drink thru a straw. :) She did have a hole in her lip it seemed... but she figured it out and was pretty proud.

An even more exciting accomplishment is that she climbed the stairs all by herself. Mind you, that does alarm us just a -little- bit... because now we can't 'assume' she is just going around the corner. Now she could be climbing!! She is definitely proud of herself... as you can tell by the picture.

I also am uploading a couple of other pictures. One is her wearing her sandles that Grandma D bought her last March. Her feet are now big enough to fit into them. This is the first time she's had shoes on her feet and tried to walk. She didn't know what to think of them at first, but Abi being Abi made it work.

The other picture is of her in front of our fish-tank. As you can tell, she really likes them. It is a fairly new fascination, but fun to watch.

Cuddly Dolly

Here is a picture of my darling daughter sleeping with her 'baby' she got for Christmas from cousin Ryne. I thought it was too cute... especially since it is the first time I've seen her really cuddle with something.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone!

Hard to believe that we are about a week into the new year already. I've been really celebrating the new year right. Okay, that is not true... I was lucky enough to be the one working New Year's Day then again on Tuesday and Wednesday. Big deal, right? Well, for those that are not in the pharmacy profession... right. For those that are, Medicare Part D started on Sunday. It was going fairly well for me on Sunday... if you don't count the 45 minutes I was on hold for an insurance company. Then Tuesday and Wednesday were completely different stories. I struggled with insurances at every corner. I really don't mind the struggle... it's the struggle and not getting resolution that is the problem. I don't mind calling the insurance companies, the case workers, or the county offices... it's the fact that nobody seems to know the answers. I really felt like I was chasing my tail. But the good news is, Tracy and Amy (the other pharmacists that worked Thursday and today) managed to get resolution to the things I started on Tuesday. Yippie!

Greg and I have been spending our evenings sitting in front of the fire playing cards while watching TV. Card playing is definitely not something we can do while Abi is awake. She is WAY too interested in the cards. We let her 'play' too, but it doesn't always work out for us. :) I got a Canasta game in my stocking this year... so we've been playing that quite a bit. It's a confusing game to learn, but alot of fun to play. Last night I even managed to beat my card shark of a husband at it! I think I should etch that into stone somewhere... as it probably won't happen again anytime soon.

Well, everyone... I hope you are having a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
