Kitty for borrow?

Hi everyone...

I just discovered a most upsetting thing... (at least to me)...

A mouse in my garage! ... and for those that do not know, the garage is attached to my house! EWWWW!

I am not pleased about this and I told Greg when we moved in that the first time I see a mouse, we are getting a cat! Of course, that won't really happen... unless Greg doesn't take care of the mouse-situation.

I called my darling softie father-in-law and would you believe all he did was make fun of me?! He thought I was insane for being upset... I know that Aunt Sylvia will feel my agony!

When I spoke with my parents, they weren't much better! I tell you... just because I'm 30 years old, a wife, a Mom of almost 2 children, and a pharmacist that means I have to LIKE having rodents in my house?!?! I think not!

So going back to the title of this entry... anyone have a good mouser they want to let us borrow?

I'll keep you posted on this developing drama.

Big Girl Bed!

Abi has graduated into a big girl bed... She is VERY proud of it and has done great with it so far. She gave Greg a bit of a harder time yesterday at nap time, but I believe that was because she was overtired. Today, she didn't give me any difficulty.

It was pretty cute to have her come out of her room in the morning and come to our bed to wake us up with kisses... Yes, I'm sure that may get a little old if the hour that it happens is too early! :)

October Thoughts

Hello everyone... October, already. I just can't believe we are so far in the year. I think Abi makes time fly by. I'm not sure how she does it, but she must have some connections with Father Time.

I know that it is getting really late in the year when I actually have been thinking of Christmas already. I, as a rule, do not decorate for Christmas until as close to Thanksgiving as possible because I think the holiday is stretched too far... As an example, CVS (and many other stores I've noticed) already have the Christmas decorations out!! YIKES! At least at CVS, we have only a few feet set up... by end of October, I'm sure we will be inundated with Christmas merchandise.

Greg and I booked our flights to North Dakota for Christmas also today. It will be the first Christmas that we have been able to spend with my family in about four years. Of course the trade-off is that we won't be in New York to spend it with Greg's family. Anybody have a plan to rid of the miles between North Dakota and New York? I've been trying to figure it out without hurting the people in those states... I'm thinking there has got to be a way. :)

I am going to post a few pictures of Abi taken in the past couple of months. They are just a hodge-podge of pictures that I think are cute. I hope you agree. :) Let me know what you think of them.

Pumpkin Patch

Abi and I enjoyed a trip to a pumpkin patch this weekend. The owners of the patch are patients of mine and arranged for an extra special pumpkin just for Abi.

She had a great time there and is getting excited about Halloween. I've tried asking her several times what she'd like to be for Halloween, but she doesn't quite get it. :) I am trying to decide if I want to make a costume again like I have in the past... or just go buy one. It's a tough call!

Things here are going very well. Greg has started a part-time Social Studies position employed by Herkimer BOCES. It's about 1/2 an hour from here... give or take. He works a couple of mornings every week and will have different roles including teaching SS to high school kids taking courses for college credit, helping special education teachers with SS curriculum for high special needs students, and teaching those students that are sometimes thought to be "unteachable". This last part sounds most similar to part of his West Fargo position. His clear roles and responsibilities are still evolving, so we shall see. He is certainly excited about having a 'real' Social Studies job and hope that this will open up other opportunities.

Hope everybody is doing great!
