More Kodak Moments

Tubbing in the big girl tub with Abi and Mommy (the chaperone!)
Really, Mikayla is having a good time...
Showing off her carrots from her garden...

Drooling fool...
The sweetest picture.... Abi gave Baby Kacie to Mikayla to play with.
Baby Kacie is Abi's most prized belonging I think... she's been to California, North Dakota (several times), Illinois... you get the idea. For Abi to willingly give her to Mikayla to play with tells me how much she loves her baby sister.

Speaking of sweet moments between sisters, Abi asked me to stop feeding Mikayla. Now I realize that doesn't sound so sweet, but wait to hear the reason why she wants me to stop. "Mommy stop feeding this baby. I want her to stay little. I love this baby. I LOVE her!"

Mikayla's Appointment

Well, Mikayla girl had her 4 month check-up today... (Yep, she is almost 5 months old for those doing the math, but since we were in ND for her 2 month, she didn't have that until almost 3 months... so you get the idea.) :)

Anyway, all is well. She is still battling a blocked tear-duct, but nothing too horrible. Her stats are as follows:

Weight 14 pounds, 13 ounces (50%)
Height 26 inches (90%)
Head circumference 43.5 cm (90%)

We will be starting her on cereal soon as her appetite has increased like crazy lately. Greg said the other day that he thinks she has grown a snout and a curly tail.

More to come...

Abi-isms

In the past week or so, Abi has had some eloquent moments... I'll try to share them in the same way.

Abi, Greg, and Greg's dad were going bowling on Sunday... She asks "Papa, why did the birdies poop on the car?" Papa says, "I don't know Abi. Why do the birdies poop on the car?". Her answer????

"Because they thought it was a potty!" (insert exaggerated laughter here)

We received a mailing last week that happened to have a silhouette of New York on it. Abi looked at it and asked me, "What is that Mommy?" I realized she must have recognized it and I asked her, "What is that?". She says, "That's the state we live in Mommy. That's North America." I said to her, "North America is the -continent- we live in. What's the -state- we live in?" I start prompting her with the 'N' sound... she says "New York!"

I am impressed by the fact that not only did she recognize the shape of the state, but that she was able to place it out of context. Everyday she amazes me more and more!!

Being as Abi is recently potty-trained, alot of references are made to her excretions...

The girls and I are at the library on Monday night. Abi acts as though she has to go to the bathroom... so we go. :) She picks the handicapped stall so that we can all fit into it. She successfully goes tinkle, washes her hands, and back to the fun stuff. A few minutes later, she is acting again like she has to go. I ask and she responds with, "Yes Mommy. I think I need to Poop." I looked around, but I don't think the 8 to 10 year old boys nearby even heard her... I'm fairly certain a chorus of giggles would have followed if they had. So to the bathroom again. She chooses the small stall this time and announces proudly, "I can do it myself Mama." I stand outside with Mikayla holding the door shut, but can see thru the gap in the door that she is concentrating very hard. Soon she says she is done, climbs off the toilet, and finishes up. I'm about to flush the toilet and she says, "Mommy, I did it! Look at that chunk!" Pleasant picture, huh? :)

I believe there are more stories to share, but at the moment I'm drawing a blank. Hope you enjoyed them.

Love,
Angie

First Day of School

On Monday, Abi started her first day of preschool. She LOVED it and was near bouncing off the walls to go in the morning... as she was today also. :)

Her teachers seem very nice and perfect for her age group... definitely ElEd (elementary education) types. :) I know a couple of the parents in the group thru CVS and another I recognize from Abi's swim class at the Sitrin home when she was about a year old.

Here are a couple of pictures of the big day:

Mikayla Milestone

Hello,

Just moments ago, Mikayla rolled over from back to front for the first time. She is even content on her tummy... I guess it has to do with the fact she chose to do it rather than us putting her there. :)

More later,
