Okay, so the title I chose for this entry is "A Week in Review" I realize that implies that it has only been a week since I posted, but forgive me. :) Please. :)
Things in our world are pretty busy, but overall good. We had some sad news to share from last Thursday. For those that are not aware, we had to put Sasha down. She has been on the decline for a few months, but last week she really wasn't doing well. One morning Greg had to pick up her hind quarters in order to get her outside... of course that was after not having bowel control. :( It was a very difficult decision for us, but one that was the best for Sasha. She is now free from pain.
Abi has asked many questions from the experience ranging from "Where did Sasha go?" and "When do we get her back?" to making statements like "It's okay Mommy. We can get another dog and name him or her Sasha." (Yep, she really said it that way... addressing both genders. Sometimes I wonder if we have an almost 4 year old or an almost 14 year old on our hands... Abi has continued to mature and grow in so many ways.
Mikayla is growing too, of course and should have new statistics to share next week after her doctor's appointment. She is now crawling everywhere (including up the stairs, if allowed... more on that later) and is cruising along furniture. Her favorite place to cruise is underneath the dining room table along all of the chairs. I seem to remember another little girl that liked to do the same thing... I'll have to try and post similar pictures.
Anyway, Abi has been demonstrating her Best Big Sister moments... one of which came last week. Greg was upstairs in the office when he heard Abi call for him. "Daddy! Daddy!" and he goes to the top of the stairs to find Mikayla on the third step with Abi right behind her to make sure she doesn't fall. But I'll add that Abi didn't try to stop her, but rather just to protect her. Abi knows she is not allowed to pick up Mikayla.
For those of you that have Facebook, I have recently discovered it... Send me a "friend" request if you'd like to see more pictures of the girls and the like. I resisted Facebook for a long time, but have found it to be quite useful and fun.
I will complete this post and then make one or more for just pictures. :)
Smile everyone!
