In the past week or so, Abi has had some eloquent moments... I'll try to share them in the same way.
Abi, Greg, and Greg's dad were going bowling on Sunday... She asks "Papa, why did the birdies poop on the car?" Papa says, "I don't know Abi. Why do the birdies poop on the car?". Her answer????
"Because they thought it was a potty!" (insert exaggerated laughter here)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We received a mailing last week that happened to have a silhouette of New York on it. Abi looked at it and asked me, "What is that Mommy?" I realized she must have recognized it and I asked her, "What is that?". She says, "That's the state we live in Mommy. That's North America." I said to her, "North America is the -continent- we live in. What's the -state- we live in?" I start prompting her with the 'N' sound... she says "New York!"
I am impressed by the fact that not only did she recognize the shape of the state, but that she was able to place it out of context. Everyday she amazes me more and more!!

Being as Abi is recently potty-trained, alot of references are made to her excretions...
The girls and I are at the library on Monday night. Abi acts as though she has to go to the bathroom... so we go. :) She picks the handicapped stall so that we can all fit into it. She successfully goes tinkle, washes her hands, and back to the fun stuff. A few minutes later, she is acting again like she has to go. I ask and she responds with, "Yes Mommy. I think I need to Poop."I looked around, but I don't think the 8 to 10 year old boys nearby even heard her... I'm fairly certain a chorus of giggles would have followed if they had. So to the bathroom again. She chooses the small stall this time and announces proudly, "I can do it myself Mama." I stand outside with Mikayla holding the door shut, but can see thru the gap in the door that she is concentrating very hard. Soon she says she is done, climbs off the toilet, and finishes up. I'm about to flush the toilet and she says, "Mommy, I did it! Look at that chunk!" Pleasant picture, huh? :)

I believe there are more stories to share, but at the moment I'm drawing a blank. Hope you enjoyed them.
Love,
Angie
