This is my third attempt at writing this post. The first attempt failed because Abi hit a button by accident... That's what I get for trying to post to the blog with a 3-year old sitting by my side. :) It was a complete accident, so I started again... then Abi just wasn't in the mood to have some self play... which means I don't have my time either. :)
So here we go again...
I have a few random pictures to post as well. The first one I am posting is of Greg's ingenuity and resourcefulness (although some may prefer the adjective "Redneckish"). Our poor mailbox takes a beating every winter thanks to the snow plow. Because we are on a high-traffic, higher-speed road, the snow plow throws the ice, snow, slush, and salt with a pretty powerful punch. Here is how Greg fixed the mailbox... What do you think?
In case you cannot tell, that is two pieces of wood duct taped about the post... goes along well with the mailbox that is also duct taped to the post!
The next thought...
I have been able to clean since I've been off of work. Last Saturday I made a to-do list that as Grandpa put it "should be outlawed". While I wish the need wasn't there, I am better about accomplishing tasks when I have them laid out in front of me. I also feel better because I can see the list getting smaller with each task! :) One of the cleaning endeavors I chose was to tackle Abi's room... With her help (really, she was rather helpful) I managed to transform her room into this...
Doesn't it look pretty?!
Next...
We have had absolutely gorgeous weather the past few days. Today, we are up to 70 plus degrees. We were able to enjoy some picnics and lots of sandbox time as well as Abi playing on her "Blue Park" (i.e. swingset).
Here is a picture from the picnic/walk yesterday afternoon. We went to Lock #20 along the Barge Canal. Abi thinks the Mohawk River (or as she says is Mohawk Riber) and Barge Canal are so neat... she is absolutely infatuated with "muddy water".
I am hoping to invest in a camcorder very soon. If we do get one, I will be sure to take some Abi video and try to upload it onto the blog so you can hear/see some of the cute things she says and does.
Well, I suppose I can't exactly make a post of random things and not talk about the pregnancy and baby! :)
We went to the doctor this week and also had a sonogram. The sono tech was unable to get a good picture b/c the baby was so curled up. The good news is that we were also not able to accidentally see the gender... :) The baby's current weight is 8 pounds, 7 ounces and I am measuring about a week ahead of schedule. We'll see. :) Our next appointment is next Friday morning, so I'll try to post after that to let you know if there is anything new to report.
I have many people that are saying I "must be getting anxious" or "wow, I bet you can't wait...", but the truth is: I am excited, no doubt, but I'm in no hurry either. The baby will come when the baby will come. I am enjoying having family time with both Greg (since he's been on spring break) and Abi. Besides, the longer the baby takes to enter our world, the longer I am on disability from work! :)
Hmmm... Well, I think that is all that I know for now. Hope this post makes a little bit of sense and fills you in a little on our lives.
Take care everyone!
Love,
Angie :)
